City Council Delegation Visits Karachi Port Trust Head Office

City Institute of Image Management (CIIM),of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) organized a study tour of KMC Council members and its senior officers to Karachi Port Trust here.
Senior Director municipal services Nauman Arshad and Director CIIM Muhammad Shahid also accompanied the delegation, said a statement a statement on Thursday.
Executive Engineer KPT Rashid Ikram and Deputy Harbor Master Captain Hasan Afaq welcomed the delegation.
They gave a detailed presentation to KMC Council Members and officers with regard to the working of KPT.
The delegation was told that the Marine Pollution department is working for regular cleaning of shores.
However, regular dumping of garbage and waste by residents of coastal area affecting the situation, they said.
Senior director municipal services Nauman Arshad said that the Karachi port is the most important port of the region and it plays key role in the cargo handling and progress of the national economy.
He said KMC is ready to assist the KPT in its works for thebetterment of the city.
