ECB Holds Key Interest Rates At Historic Lows: Spokeswoman

European Central Bank governors left interest rates unchanged at record lows on Thursday and confirmed they would remain there "at least through the summer of 2019", a spokeswoman said after the last monetary policy meeting of the year.

The Frankfurt institution's main refinancing rate was kept at zero percent, the rate on the marginal lending facility at 0.25 percent and the rate on deposits at minus 0.4 percent, meaning that banks pay to park money with the ECB.
