IGP-Sindh Opens Police Department's First Mobile Auto Repair Workshop

Inspector General of Police (IGP-Sindh), Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam here on Thursday inaugurated the department's first mobile automotor repair workshop.
Deputy Inspector General of Sindh Police (Technical), Dr. Jamil Ahmed sharing the objectives of the facility said this is to keep the provincial police department's fleets of vehicles fully functional.
The workshop was said to be fully equipped with needed tools and gadgets while well qualified and trained mechanics belonging to the department would man the workshop.
According to DIG, Dr. Jamil the mobile workshop will ensure that police vans and other vehicles that may broke down while on duty are repaired on there and then basis.
This was said to avert unnecessary difficulties, with chances of lapse in proper realization of official obligations, in particular context of patrolling, as otherwise the vehicles have to be towed to the garage.
The concerned official said concerted efforts are also being made to keep intact the working conditions of the fleets used to carry prisoners from jail to courts and vice versa besides those on escort duty and so-forth.
IGP-Sindh, appreciative of the measures adopted to improve operational capacities of the department directed that provision for mobile workshops in other divisions of the province be also ensured with in three months.
He directed that all needed rules and regulations must be kept into account for the facility and that recommendations be finalized with regard to needed fiances and professional capacities.
