Strenuous Efforts Underway For Provision Of Health Facilities: Dr Faheem

Medical Superintendent Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta Dr. Faheem Khan on Thursday said that strenuous efforts are underway for provision of medical facilities to Balochistan's people.
He expressed these views while talking to APP here Thursday. He said that BMC Hospital provides medical treatment to number of patients coming from Afghanistan, Sindh and far flung areas of Balochistan.
According to the MS BMC hospital in the month of November total 47,252 patients were medically examined in the OPD section and received medicines for treatment, while 166 minor and 823 Major operations were conducted in the hospital from which 124 were related to Orthopedics, 114 general surgeries, 260 Gynecology operations, 42 plastic surgeries and 108 patients go through ENT operations.
A total of 1,865 patients diagnosed with different diseases were admitted in the hospital and treated, 221 patients underwent MRI tests, 187 patients had CT scans, 8 patients had endoscopes and 191 went through Audio Gram. While 2,693 X-rays were done at BMC hospital and 50 patients were diagnosed with TB and had treatment, he added.
He said that in the Cardiac Department total 523 Echo test were done for heart patients, whereas 691 patients under went ECG and 131 patients also had angiographies.
During the month of November, the Department of Gynecology and labor room conducted 1,647 deliveries and 2,519 ultrasounds were done.
He said that 10,597 different laboratory tests were conducted in the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital in the month of November , 540 for Hepatitis including 107 Hepatitis B and 56 Hepatitis C. While 11 patients of AIDS were also registered, admitted and treated, he added.
He further said that BMC hospital also admitted 328 new patients in the Thalassemia Center and provided them fresh blood. While in the emergency department total 4,329 patients were given medical aid including 91 violence victims and 117 injured in road mishaps, during this time period 1,913 X-rays were also conducted in the emergency department.
MS BMC hospital further added that in the month of November 8 cases of gunshot and 18 dead bodies were also brought to the emergency department.
He said that hospital administration and medical staff working hard and serving humanity in the province.
"Government is taking concrete measures for improving health sector in Balochistan", he said.
