DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 13th Dec, 2018) The Ministry of Community Development, MoCD, organised the third forum for people of determination representatives in government entities to review the legislation on disabilities, introduce a national policy to empower persons with disabilities, highlight ways of dealing with different disability categories, embody positive communication between members of the community and people of determination in the workplace.
The ministry defined the roles of the representatives who are a link between their entities and the People of Determination on the one side and the ministry on the other, to ensure that services meant for such people run smoothly. Based on the Cabinet’s Decision No. 1/6 for 2017 concerning the national policy for the empowerment of the People of Determination, the role of the representative is to serve these categories in all the service government entities.
Wafa Hamad bin Sulaiman, Director of Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre for People of Determination in the ministry, emphasised its commitment to achieve integration between all legal and national entities to maintain the rights of the People of Determination and their environment and integrate them in the community to consolidate their empowerment and provide them with the best services as efficiently as possible. The wise leadership was keen to provide them with what they require as they are an integral part of the community.
Bin Sulaiman spoke about the ministry’s role in the training and rehabilitation of representatives so they are able to fulfil their roles efficiently and coordinate with service providers in order to develop and ensure services for the People of Determination.
