MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) Russia's interdepartmental delegation involving Russian defense and foreign ministries' officials was received by Syrian President Bashar Assad, the sides discussed the launch of the constitutional committee, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.The meeting took place on December 12, and involved Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev and Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin.
"The development of the situation in Syria and around it was considered in detail. Special attention was paid to the task of promptly forming and launching the work of the constitutional committee in accordance with the decisions of the Syria national dialogue congress and UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the ministry said.
