Pakistan Football Federation Gets New Office-bearers From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) got new office-bearers hailing from Peshawar after a long 30-year, as Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah Wednesday elected President having support of both football giants Syed Zahir Ali Shah and MNA Muhammad Aamir Dogar.
The Faisal Saleh Hayat group, got only three votes of the 26 members of electorate from all affiliated unit comprising Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Wapda, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Police, Higher education Commission, Pakistan International Airline, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, three of women members, a member from the Pakistan Football Referees Association and a victorious national football women team Pakistan Army took part in the election while exercising their right of vote.
Besides Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah election as President Pakistan Football Federation, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, MNA Muhammad Aamir Dogar and Sardar Naveed Haider elected as Vice President. The election in this connection was held in the Supreme Court building. Pakistan Football Federation Returning Election Officer and Director General Human Right of Supreme Court of Pakistan Aamir Saleem Rana announced the result.
According to him there were six persons did not turn-up, probably hailing from Faisal Saleh Hayat group. He said Ashfaq Hussain Shah got 17 votes and his rival candidature Anwar Ul Haq Qurashi took only 3 votes.
In the three post of vice president MNA Muhammad Aamir Dogar got 20 votes, Sardar Naveed Haider and Syed Zahir Shah took 18 votes each and Muhammad Jan Maree took 4 votes.
In the election for the Executive Council Muhammad Ashraf Khan and Mian Rizwan Ali from Punjab got 19 and 18 votes, Dost Muhammad and Aziz Ullah from Balochistan got 19 and 17 votes, Zulfiqar Ahmed and Saad Rasool from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got 19 and 18 votes, Jamil Ahmad and Abdur Nasir Baloch from Sindh elected unopposed.
For the three post of women Farzana Rauf, Javeria Zafar and Tasawar Aziz got 16, 16 and 14 votes respectively and Nadia Naqvi got only two votes. The election meeting was also attended by Pakistan Football Federation Secretary General Col. (Retd) Ahmad Yar Lodhi and representative from Pakistan Spots board Raja Zulfiqar were also present.
When contacted, Syed Zahir Ali Shah said that Peshawar once again come into lamplight of winning the election of the Pakistan Football Federation after a long 30-years. He said late General Fazale Haq was the last elected from Peshawar as President Pakistan Football Federation.
He said the now efforts would be made to promote football not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in whole country. We have already chalked out a plan to promote football across Pakistan, he said, adding the notification of the election result would be made either on Thursday or Friday.
He said there is no dearth of football talent in Pakistan but the country gradually going down with each passing day due to ill-planning.
"We want to work dedicatedly and certainly more tournaments acrossPakistan would benefit the players associated with this game," he said. Former sports Minister Syed Aqil Shah, President Olympic Association of the tribal districts Shahid Khan Shinwari also congratulated the newly office-bearers of the Pakistan Football Federation while sending their separate messages felicitations.
