Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assures Of Widening Roads Leading To Picturesque Areas For Promoting Tourism

Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan Wednesday assured the acquisition of land for the widening of roads to picturesque areas of the province for promoting them on tourism lines.
The provincial government was working on the infrastructure development throughout the province, he added.
Chief Minister agreed to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads projects initiated in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank directing the quarter concerned to bring the projects to the forum of Provincial Development Working Party which after approval would be communicated to the Central Development Working Party for final approval.
He was presiding over two different meetings at Chief Minister House Peshawar. The meetings were participated by the Provincial Minister for Communication & Works, Secretaries P&D and C&W, representatives of Asian Development Bank and other relevant officials.
The meeting was informed about the overall sketch of the roads projects both including the rural roads and the farm to market roads in addition to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of one thousand kilometer different roads in the province.
Chief Minister directed for the actual cost estimation of the projects in roads communication. In the first phase, the existing roads would be reconstructed and rehabilitated and the Asian Development Bank would cooperate for the pre-feasibility and full feasibility processes wherein roads in the newly seven merged districts of the erstwhile FATA would be included.
Mahmood Khan directed to immediately clear these projects for the Provincial Development Working Party for onward communication to CDWP. The process should be completed with accelerated pace that he added would bring positive impact on the socio economic life of the people of rural areas. This will also involve the major population of the rural areas in the trade and commerce sectors.
Similarly, the growers would have an easy access to the market for their products.
Chief Minister assured the Asian Development Bank full cooperation not only in these projects but other projects as well adding that peace and normalcy has come to the province and the government wanted to speed up the developmental process in the province with its partners.
Mahmood Khan directed to open the scenic beauty of different parts of the province to the tourists as tourism is going to be the mainstay of the provincial economy in the foreseeable future where there would be large scale employment for the youth, continued economic activities and ultimately this exercise would bring solid foundation for the overall economic development of the province.
