Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inaugurates Rickshaw service for collection, dumping of solid waste

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the Rickshaw Service for collection and dumping of solid waste from Peshawar and its adjacent areas.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Dec, 2018 ) :Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the Rickshaw Service for collection and dumping of solid waste from Peshawar and its adjacent areas.

He formally handed over new machinery and vehicles costing Rs 80.5 million to Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) in a ceremony held here.

The new fleet of vehicles included 20 Rickshaw dumpers, 18-containers, 4 water bowser, 2 Armorel Truck, one excavator and 4-Tractor Shewals.

The chief minister said government was equipping the institutions on modern lines in order to address the masses problems in efficient way. This new system of solid waste management would soon be introduced at all divisional levels, he added.

He said PTI government had converted slogan of change into reality through sustained and dedicated efforts. Inclusion of new fleet in the solid waste management system would further improve and strengthen the cleanliness in the city, he added.

Mahmood Khan said provincial government was following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to make the country clean and green.

The chief minister said government had allocated Rs 300 million for WSSP in budget so that it could be upgraded on modern lines and hoped that WSSP will do its best to facilitate the citizen's up-to maximum level.

Responding to a question the chief minister said that the system of local government would also be introduced in the newly merged tribal districts of erstwhile FATA and local body elections will also beheld in these new tribal districts very soon.

He said that the provincial government was committed to provide quality education and it could be gauged from the fact that provincial ministers enrolled their children in government schools which was a clear proof of change.
