CAIRO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) Egyptian forces said in a statement on Wednesday that they had killed 27 extremists during anti-terror raids on the Sinai Peninsula and in desert areas near the Libyan border.According to the statement, over 400 people suspected of links to terrorists had been detained over the recent weeks. During the operations, more than 400 explosive devices, a number of vehicles, armories and hideouts of the extremists were destroyed.
Since February, the Egyptian Armed Forces have been carrying out the Sinai-2018 counterterrorism operation. Around 500 militants were eliminated over the past months.
