Over 20% of Ukrainians Would Have Picked Tymoshenko If Presidential Vote Held in Nov -Poll

Over 20 percent of Ukrainians would have voted for ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who heads the pro-European party Batkivshchyna (Fatherland), if the presidential election were held in November, while only 11.6 percent would have backed acting President Petro Poroshenko, a fresh poll by Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) showed.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th December, 2018) Over 20 percent of Ukrainians would have voted for ex-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who heads the pro-European party Batkivshchyna (Fatherland), if the presidential election were held in November, while only 11.6 percent would have backed acting President Petro Poroshenko, a fresh poll by Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) showed.

"If we calculate the percentage in relation to those who have chosen a side, we will receive the following results: 21.2 percent would vote for Yulia Tymoshenko; 14.6 percent for entertainer Volodymyr Zelenskiy; 11.6 percent for Petro Poroshenko; 11 percent for Yuriy Boyko [one of leaders of Opposition platform For life]; and 8.7 percent for Radical Party leader Oleh Lyashko," a press release summing up the results of the poll said.

A total of 27 potential presidential candidates were proposed for the poll.

The poll was conducted between November 23 and December 3 among 2,000 respondents in 110 Ukrainians cities and settlements in all of the country's regions except Donbas.

Ukraine will hold the presidential election on March 31, 2019.
