AJK Govt Decides To Do Reform In Education Deptt: Minister

The AJK Education Minister Col (R) Wiqar Noor on Monday said that Government of Azad Kashmir has decided to make reforms in education department at large scale, particularly at college level.

MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Dec, 2018 ) :The AJK Education Minister Col (R) Wiqar Noor on Monday said that Government of Azad Kashmir has decided to make reforms in education department at large scale, particularly at college level.

The government is devising a policy to make the teachers attendance computerized as to make their up gradation conditional to their attendance record, he said while talking to media persons here at his office.

He said the government is mulling to change the traditional education system in Azad Kashmir and introduce biometric system to ensure attendance of the teachers. He added that no professor or lecturer could able to teach at private institutions while those teachers showing better performance would be awarded.

The Minister opined that the new system would be based on merit. The promotions on fast-track bases were also under consideration.

He informed that some 150 colleges were running at public sector and 400 colleges at private sector across the Azad Kashmir.The changes in registration process in private sector is also being introduced to ensure quality and competitive based education to avoid from monopoly of private sector in the area, Waqar added.

The Education Minister was of the view that on the special directions of AJK Prime Minister Farooq Haider Khan the biometric system is being introduced in educational institutions to check the attendance of the teachers and other administrative staff.
