Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan Reiterates Timely Completion Of BRT

Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan Monday reiterated that Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) project would timely be completed thus providing quality and respectable commuting facilities to the citizens.
He said due to construction work on BRT project the issue of power outage and low gas pressures were irking citizens but assured that issues would resolve permanently upon completion of the mega project.
He was talking to a 100-member grand Jirga of Khalil Mohmand tribe which was led by MPA Pir Fida at CM house.
Provincial Spokesperson Ajmal Wazir, elected representatives, Vice Chancellor Peshawar University and others officials were present on the occasion.
The CM was informed about the hardships of the residents in suburb of Peshawar University and demanded opening of different gates of the university, the issues related to BRT, the power shut down and the low pressure of gas. They also highlighted some problems related to education and health sectors.
Mahmood Khan told the delegation that PTI government has taken curative measures to widen the fiscal space of the province in order to generate maximum resources for onward spending on the public welfare.
He said he was not oblivious to the gas related problems of Peshawar city adding that the relevant quarter was laying down the necessary infrastructure in order to increase the gas flow.
He appreciated the Jirga and residents of the city for their cooperation during the BRT project adding that he was fully aware of hardships the people underwent but for better facilities, the temporary nature of hardships was not a big price, he added.
The CM asserted that BRT project was the best solution to all traffic congestion in the city and it would change the landscape of Peshawar.
On the occasion he announced a girls college in the area and directed for purchase of land for the purpose.
Referring to power loadshedding issue, he called upon the people to discourage Kunda culture and power theft adding that the Federal Minister for Energy had recently assured maximum facilitation in order to bring down the power related hardships of the people.
The CM assured to relax ban on employment of Class-IV in different projects of Peshawar.
He also assured to strengthen the secondary and Primary healthcare centers in order to reduce the burden on major healthcare institutions in Peshawar.
Regarding KTH and LRH related issues he assured to convene a separate meeting to resolve the problems at the earliest.
He asked the quarter concerned to sit together and find out a solution to the opening of gates of Peshawar University and other host of problems raised on the occasion.
The delegation thanked the CM for keenness in resolving their problems.
