Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos said on Saturday that the final versions of the project of a superheavy class rocket would be presented to the Russian leadership in early 2019.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th December, 2018) Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos said on Saturday that the final versions of the project of a superheavy class rocket would be presented to the Russian leadership in early 2019."The final versions of the design project of a superheavy class rocket and its feasibility study will be reported to the country's leadership at the beginning of next year," the Roscosmos said in a statement.
The relevant Federal target program will be named "Creating a space rocket complex of the super heavy class for 2020-2030." The project involves almost all engineering and research teams of the Russian space industry, Roscosmos said.
The statement added that draft projects, activities of the future program, options for its implementation, as well as the general schedule for the creation of a superheavy class rocket were in the focus of the Roscosmos meeting, which was held at the Central Scientific Research Institute for Machine Building (TsNIIMash) earlier on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a source in the space industry told Sputnik that the rocket's design project had not been agreed upon during the meeting.
According to the source, Progress Rocket Space Centre Director General Dmitry Baranov has been tasked with working out such a project and later presenting it to Roscosmos.
