The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday observed the National Voters Day in Bajaur tribal district with aim to sensitize the people about the importance of vote.

BAJAUR, (Pakistan Point News - 7th Dec, 2018 ) :The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday observed the National Voters Day in Bajaur tribal district with aim to sensitize the people about the importance of vote.

A function in this connection was held in civil colony Khar which attended by political workers, social activists, tribal elder, students and officials of the election commission.

Deputy Commissioner Uman Mehsood and officials of the local administration were also present on the occasion.

District election commissioner Pervez Iqbal briefed the participants about the significance of the National Voters Day and said that observing of the Day was to aware the people about the importance of vote.

He said that the Election Commissioner has declared December 7, as National Voter Day with aim to sensitize the people about the importance of vote.

As per the Election Commission decision, he said December 7 will be observed as National Voter Day every year across the country.

He asked the participants to help the election commission in sensitizing the people about the importance of vote.

The event was also addressed by deputy commissioner and termed the holding of such functions imperative to aware the people about the importance of vote.

He said that most of the people of the country in general and Bajaur in particular have no awareness about the important of vote, saying such events was vial to aware the people about the importance of their vote.

He stressed the need of joint efforts to aware the people of the district especially the residents of remote and far-flung areas about the importance of vote.

He asked the tribal elders, political and social activists and youths to play their due role in creating awareness among the people of their areas about the importance of vote.

The DC has also asked the officials of the Election Commission to aware the people of remote and far-flung areas about the importance of vote by arranging special awareness session there.

Later, a walk was also held which participated by people from different walks of life in large numbers.
