MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak the oil output reduction under the new OPEC-non-OPEC deal ahead of Novak's departure for Vienna, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

This week, OPEC member states and non-cartel producers are negotiating the deal in the Austrian capital of Vienna. Later on Friday, the proposal on the new deal will be put on table for a final approval.

"[Putin] has repeatedly held meetings with Novak, above all, for discussions of the issues that were included in the agenda of the recent Eurasian Economic Community summit, but the Vienna issues were certainly discussed as well," Peskov told reporters, when asked about the meeting that Putin and Novak held in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on Thursday.

However, Peskov did not provide any comments on Russian position on the possible deal.

"Minister Novak is in Vienna, he will make a statement. I won't make any statements on this issue yet," Peskov said.
