8,659 Cases Registered In ICT In 2018 So Far

The police have registered 8,659 cases of different natures during eleven months of current calender year as compared to 6,452 cases of different nature during same period of 2017.
The year 2018 has witnessed an increase of 2207 cases and majority of cases registered during the period were related to robbery and vehicle theft. The police statistics from January 1st to November 30th 2018 showed that around 225 cars and 426 motorcycles were stolen as compared to 138 cars and 177 motorcycles taken away in 2017.
Citizens have lost their property worth millions of rupees in 466 robbery and 340 burglaries and 367 thefts.
As many as 106 people lost their lives and another 147 were subjected to murderous attempts compared to 85 murder and 142 attempted murder case in 2017.
Of the total, 32 dacoity cases were also reported, while the number of kidnapped and molestation cases was 357.
Meanwhile, 2134 other cases were also registered including one thousand cheque dishonor.
In addition to 271 hurt cases and 90 fatal accidents were reported. As many as 981 illegal weapon and 1226 drugs and liquor cases were also reported.
17 foreigners arrests were made and cases registered against them according to the foreigner act, besides the police have recovered million of rupees from the robbers and arrested 125 accused and 18 gangs consisting of 42 members.
101 cars and 63 motorbikes were also recovered from the law breakers.
When contacted the police spokesman said Inspector General of Police (IGP) have directed all police officials to ensure effective measures for protecting the lives and property of the citizens and adopting courteous attitude with citizens and performs duties in a professional manner.
He said under the direction of IG, a reconciliatory committees would be constituted in Islamabad on the pattern of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and public complaints to be resolved on priority basis that will help resolve disputes saving time and efforts wasted in litigations.
