Saracens Star Lozowski Puts Boot Into Former Club Wasps

London, Dec 1 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Dec, 2018 ) :Alex Lozowski showed little mercy to his former side Wasps on Saturday contributing 19 points in Premiership champions Saracens 29-6 victory.

Lozowski's points haul included converting the only two tries of the contest -- by England hooker Jamie George and lock Nick Isiekwe -- which stretched the Saracens Premiership win streak to nine matches this term and 16 in all dating back to last season.

Victory also propelled Saracens to the top of the table, two points ahead of previous leaders Exeter Chiefs, who suffered their first loss of the campaign on Friday, falling 28-26 to Harlequins.

For Wasps it was a return to losing ways, their 32-28 win over Bristol Bears last weekend halting a seven-match losing run in all competitions.

Bristol Bears gained a much-needed victory -- with bonus points to boot -- hammering visiting Leicester Tigers 41-10.

Harry Thacker also showed little sentiment as he scored two tries against a side he represented for eight years.

Bristol's third win of the campaign was made easier when Wayne Barnes sent off former England international Kyle Eastmond in the 25th minute for a high tackle on Irish fly-half Iain Madigan.

Bears head coach Pat Lam was delighted with his team's efforts, which earned a bonus point, and put them in seventh, six points above bottom side Newcastle, who also won on Saturday, beating Northampton Saints, 16-14.

"I am extremely pleased. It was our biggest-ever win against Leicester and five points, given the nature of the competition, is massive," said Lam.

"The collective effort pleased me most.

"We have taken eight points in the last three games and to do that against Exeter, Wasps and Leicester is huge.

"In context, it's a massive win. It is a big day for us, particularly when you look at the individuals they had." The only consolation for Tigers was Manu Tuilagi scoring a try a week after the injury-prone centre made his first appearance for England in two years.

Exeter Chiefs lost to Harlequins in a thrilling clash.

The Chiefs -- champions in 2017 and beaten by Saracens in the 2018 final -- did come away with two points as a consolation in their first game without England wing Jack Nowell, who is expected to be out for two months with a hamstring injury.

"We're pleased we got two points rather than nothing, but I'm disappointed we haven't won the game," Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter told BBC Radio.

"We've got to credit the guys for digging in when the game kept almost getting away from us, but at the same we've also got to be honest and face some facts that we did some pretty silly things out there."
