Punjab on high alert in view of security threat

A woman suicide bomber belonging to BLA can carry out an attack similar to that of the attack on Chinese Consulate

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 29th November, 2018) Punjab has been put on high alert in view of the security threat of a terrorist attack.

According to media reports, the Punjab IG has sent a letter to Special Branch and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to issue a security high alert and beef up security in the province.

According to the letter, a woman suicide bomber belonging to Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) can carry out an attack similar to that of the attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi.

Therefore, the later stated that fool proof security arrangements should be made for sensitive places, including government buildings.

Earlier, Lahore was put on high alert after reports that three terrorists belonging to a banned outfit have entered the city.

A notification in the regard was issued by Additional IG Operations. The notification stated that 3 terrorists had entered Lahore who could target the government and law enforcement officials.

The terrorists are aged between 15 to 20 years and are trained in using explosive weapons.

The notification from AIG directed the relevant authorities to increase the security of railway stations, bus stations and other sensitive places.

Moreover, the authorities were directed to speed up the search and combing operation in the city so any untoward incident could be avoided.
