Russian Embassy Calls On US To 'Curb Ukrainian Stooges' Over Rallies Near Russian Missions

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th November, 2018) The Russian Embassy in the United States called on Washington to "curb Ukrainian stooges" after Sunday rallies near the Russian diplomatic missions in Ukraine carried out after the incident in the Kerch Strait.

The protests near the Russian diplomatic missions in Ukraine started on late Sunday after Russia detained three Ukrainian vessels for illegally entering its territorial waters near the Kerch Strait. Participants of the protests burnt tires and threw smoke grenades to the territories of the diplomatic missions.

"We express solidarity with our colleagues at the Embassy in Kiev and Russian consulates general in Ukraine, who face aggression on a regular basis. We call upon the United States to finally curb their Ukrainian stooges. The current radical-nationalist and neo-Nazi lawlessness in Ukraine must end," the embassy wrote on its Facebook page.

On Sunday, Ukraine's Berdyansk and Nikopol gunboats and the Yany Kapu tug crossed the Russian maritime border. According to Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), the vessels sailed towards the Kerch Strait, an entrance to the Sea of Azov, where the ships were seized by Russia due to the lack of reply to a lawful demand to stop.

In response to the situation in the Kerch Strait, the Ukrainian authorities decided on Monday to introduce martial law in selected regions of Ukraine along the border with Russia as well as along the coast of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov for 30 days.
