ROME (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd November, 2018) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is paying a working visit to Italy, is set to hold meetings on Friday with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura and his Iranian and Japanese counterparts, Mohammad Javad Zarif and Taro Kono respectively, a source in the Russian delegation said on Friday.
Lavrov's visit started on Thursday and will last through Friday.
"Today, Lavrov is set to have meetings with the Japanese, and Iranian foreign ministers, and the UN special envoy for Syria," the source told reporters.
The meetings will be held on the sidelines of the annual conference MED � Mediterranean Dialogues in Rome. The Russian foreign minister is also expected to deliver a speech at one of the sessions of the conference and to have talks with his Italian counterpart Enzo Moavero Milanesi.
On Thursday, Lavrov already had a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
