Head of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations (DECR) Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk arrived on Thursday to Seoul to attend a round table discussion on religion before preparing to head to North Korea, the DECR press service said in a statement on Thursday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd November, 2018) Head of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations (DECR) Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk arrived on Thursday to Seoul to attend a round table discussion on religion before preparing to head to North Korea, the DECR press service said in a statement on Thursday."The archpastor heads a delegation of the ROC participating in the round table 'The Russian Orthodox Church and Compatriots: Experience of Cooperation in Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania' ... The program of Metropolitan Hilarion's stay on Korean soil includes ... a visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea [DPRK]," the press release stated.
In August, Head of the ROC Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill announced at the meeting with the chairman of the North Korean Orthodox committee that a delegation of the ROC would visit North Korea to take part in celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and North Korea.
