WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th November, 2018) A police officer with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) has died as a result of injuries sustained by gunman who opened fire at the Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, CPD Chief Communications Officer Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement on Tuesday.
"It's with profound sadness that we share the death of PO Samuel Jimenez from tonight's senseless active shooter incident," Guglielmi said via Twitter.
Earlier on Tuesday, local ABC-affiliate WLS reported that two people had died and four others were injured after a gunman opened fire at the Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.
In a separate incident in the US state of Colorado, Denver Police Department spokesman, Doug Schepman, said one person was dead and three others had been taken to hospital in critical condition following a shooting in downtown Denver. The police department later confirmed that the three victims had non-life threatening injuries.
