The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, recently received in Jeddah the Director-General of the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development (AOAD), Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri.
JEDDAH, (Pakistan Point News - 19th Nov, 2018) The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, recently received in Jeddah the Director-General of the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development (AOAD), Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri.
The two sides discussed various aspects of cooperation in fields of mutual interest, especially in exchanging experience, capacity building and implementation of joint activities and programmes.
While highlighting the activities of OIC in this sector, the Secretary-General underscored the significance, which OIC attaches to collaboration with AOAD, a specialised institution of the League of Arab States, towards addressing food insecurity and low agricultural productivity in their member states.
On his part, Prof. El Dukheri presented an overview of AOAD and its scope of work, including potential programmes on agriculture and food security for joint action with OIC.
