Peshawar Red Enters Into Semi-final In 13th NBP Inter-District Soccer

Two goals by mid-fielder Khalid and one goal each by right winger Waheed and left winger deep defender Atiq Shinwari guided Peshawar Red to secure a 4-3 victory against District Karak in the first quarter-final being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Saturday.
Former International footballer and best scorer of the Asian Football Championship in 60s Abdur Shakoor Aijiz was the chief guest on this occasion. Before the start of the quarter-final match the players of the two teams Peshawar Red and Karak were introduced to him. Organizing Secretary Basit Kamal, football enthusiasts were also present.
The match was started on slow note and took momentum when mid-fielder Khalid slammed in a beautiful goal through a long foul kick conversion. It was forceful kick straightly scrolled into the net by leaving Karak goal-keeper Jaffar guessing.
After taking lead, Peshawar Red put in more pressure to double the lead and thus Khalid again with his fuming moments dispatched in another goal with his forceful kick to make the tally 2-0 well before the first session play.
It was matter of great concerned for Karak team when the conceding two goals in the first 12th minute play but they played with determination and got position of the ball.
The mid-fielder Siraj along with right winger Jibran and Asmat Ullah as left winger put in some pressure and they were succeeded in reducing the margin through center striker Farman Ullah.
Farman got a free ball from left winger Asmat Ullah and did nothing wrong in dispatching it into the net to make the tally 2-1 while JIbran scored the equalizer in the 28th minute through field attempt.
When the two teams tied 2-2, Peshawar at their home ground, managed their position by moving quickly but till the end of the first session none of the team could get any lead.
It was the second session in which Peshawar played relatively a better game and scored two more goals to make the tally 4-2.
First international Waheed netted a fine goal on the field attempt through a combined move and secondly another international Atiq Shinwari scored the fourth goal in a similar fashion. On the other hands Karak also scored the third goal through inner striker Rizwanullah to make the tally 4-3. Khair Ul Amin, Naveed, Abid supervised the match while Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as match commissioner.
