The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has announced its support to the Baltic Music Foundation in its first ‘Waterworks’ Tour of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic to the UAE taking place at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi on 11th November and in Dubai Opera on 14th November.

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2018) The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has announced its support to the Baltic Music Foundation in its first ‘Waterworks’ Tour of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic to the UAE taking place at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi on 11th November and in Dubai Opera on 14th November.

Musicians from ten countries around the Baltic Sea, including Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Finland and Denmark, will participate. It is the first performance outside Europe in ten years of international touring, starting a new wave of cultural collaborations between the Ministry and the Baltic countries.

The orchestral performance is inspired by the works of David Rosenblatt, George Frederick Handel, Charles Coleman, and Philip Glass lead by the Estonian orchestra leader Christian Yarevi, in addition to performances of the traditional song ‘Sayyidi ya sayyed sadati’ by the violinist Michael Simonian and the Emirati artist Jassem Abdellah.

An agreement was signed with Baltic Music Foundation to develop national music talents and to engage them in orchestral performances. The agreement comes in line with the Ministry’s policy of supporting talents as it will play a key role in developing national talents in arts and music by exchanging expertise between key musicians and performers, providing specialised training programmes, and creating opportunities for artists to be part of the global cultural and creative industries.

The partnership aims to promote mutual relations and collaborations with civil organisations through active participation in music, arts and cultural activities. The foundation’s use of special techniques in orchestral composition and performances will promote the music education in the UAE and support the strategic objectives of the Ministry.

According to the agreement, the Baltic Music Foundation will collaborate on strategic initiatives with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in its relevant fields of work including music education and orchestra.
