WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th November, 2018) US Attorney Jeff Sessions said on Wednesday that he has resigned at the request of President Donald Trump, as Trump revealed that he has named Sessions' temporary replacement.
"At your request, I am submitting my resignation," Sessions said in a letter to Trump.
Trump said in a Twitter message that he had appointed a temporary replacement. "We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States," Trump says.
