Mail Bombing Suspect Cesar Sayoc to Be Transferred to New York for Trial - Reports

Cesar Sayoc, the men suspected of sending via mail explosive devices to former or current high-ranking Democrat party officials, will be transferred to the US state of New York for a hearing and prosecution, local media reported on Friday citing court documents.

NEW YORK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd November, 2018) Cesar Sayoc, the men suspected of sending via mail explosive devices to former or current high-ranking Democrat party officials, will be transferred to the US state of New York for a hearing and prosecution, local media reported on Friday citing court documents.

A US Federal judge in Miami, Florida, allowed Sayoc's attorneys to make a case for his release on bond in New York, the Miami Herald reported.

The authorities charged Sayoc, 56, with five federal crimes, including interstate transportation of an explosive; the illegal mailing of explosives; and threats against former presidents and other individuals.

Federal prosecutors filed earlier this week a new document listing "overwhelming" evidence that has been collected by the FBI since Sayoc began mailing out explosives in mid-October. The document has not been discussed during the hearing on Friday.

Sayoc sent packages containing explosive devices to prominent Democrats, including former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and US Congresswomen Deborah Wasserman Schultz and Maxine Walters.
