UAE Has Attained Prestigious Stature Among Nations: Algerian Ambassador

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 31st Oct, 2018) Saleh Atiya, Ambassador of Algeria to the UAE, stated that the UAE has attained a prestigious stature among nations, and its voice is now being heard at international events, due to its open diplomacy.

He added that the UAE is appreciated around the world in the areas of politics, economy, society and human rights, and has established its role among leading countries in spreading tolerance, love and coexistence.

In a special interview with the Emirates news Agency, WAM, Atiya said that the Embassy of Algeria in the UAE is today celebrating the 64th anniversary of the "1st November Revolution," which coincides with the UAE’s celebration of the Year of Zayed, making their celebration more special while praising the overall advancement and development in the relations between the two countries.

He further added that these relations are a model of Arab relations, solidarity and mutual support while praising their bilateral ties, in light of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abdelaziz Bouteflika, President of Algeria, which began in the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Atiya expressed his pride at representing his country in the UAE while pointing out that the relations between their two countries will witness further cooperation and future prosperity, and adding that Ahmed Ouyahia, Prime Minister of Algeria, is expected to visit the UAE at the start of 2019, to strengthen these relations.

He also noted that Azzedine Mihoubi, Algerian Minister of Culture, will participate in 37th Sharjah International Book Fair, which began today at the Sharjah Expo Centre, as well as his own participation in the Algerian Embassy’s celebration of the Algerian revolution.

He further noted that Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, received an official invitation to visit Algeria during her meeting with Abdul Qadir bin Saleh, Speaker of the Algerian Council of the Nation, on the sidelines of the 39th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, General Assembly, which was held in Geneva last month.

Abdul Qadir bin Masood, Minister of Tourism of Algeria, also received an official invitation from Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, to visit the UAE, to strengthen the tourism cooperation between their countries and promote investment, he further added while stressing that the visit of Abdul Qader Masahel, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the UAE next month is due to an invitation from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The value of Emirati investments in Algeria rose during the current year to US$10 billion in the oil, industrial, touristic and agricultural sectors, Atiya explained while highlighting the fact that Algeria’s location, natural and human resources, infrastructure and considerable regional presence have made it an industrial base for exporting to markets in the region and Africa, as well as further to Europe.

Algeria will participate in Expo 2020 Dubai, through a pavilion with an area of 1,500 square metres, and the UAE’s hosting of this international event is an honour for all Arabs, he said in conclusion.
