Washington Radio Station Receives All Clear After Suspicious Package Forces Evacuation

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th October, 2018) An all-clear has been given to re-enter the building of the Washington, DC talk and news radio station WMAL after it was evacuated upon receiving a suspicious package, the station announced in a statement.

"An all clear has been given to re-enter the building," the statement said on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, a suspicious package was received at Cumulus Media, home of WMAL and mix107.3 radio stations in Washington, DC. The package was addressed to WMAL specifically and the building and streets surrounding the building were evacuated by police, the station said.

At least ten potentially harmful devices and pipe bombs have been mailed to prominent democratic politicians including former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton this week and Federal agencies are hunting for the perpetrators.

WMAL is a commercial AM news/talk radio station operated by Cumulus media.
