Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received on Tuesday the relatives of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, including his son Salah, at Al-Yamamah palace in the country's capital of Riyadh, local media reported.
DOHA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd October, 2018) Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received on Tuesday the relatives of murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, including his son Salah, at Al-Yamamah palace in the country's capital of Riyadh, local media reported.
The governmental Saudi Press Agency reported that the king and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was also present at the meeting, expressed their condolences to Khashoggi's relatives.
Khashoggi, known for his criticism of Saudi policies, had been working as a columnist for The Washington Post. The journalist was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2.
Following more than two weeks of denials, Saudi Arabia admitted on Friday via state television that the journalist had been killed in a fight inside the consulate. Riyadh has arrested 18 people over their involvement in the incident, while at least five Saudi officials have been dismissed as the Khashoggi case was gaining momentum.
