Russian Ambassador to US Antonov Meets Utah's Governor Herbert During Visit to State

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov is holding a meeting with Utah's Governor Gary Herbert at the State Capitol in Salt Lake City building as part of the envoy's visit to the state.

SALT LAKE CITY (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd October, 2018) Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov is holding a meeting with Utah's Governor Gary Herbert at the State Capitol in Salt Lake City building as part of the envoy's visit to the state.

Antonov and Herbert greeted each other with a handshake and spoke briefly about US Ambassador to Russia John Huntsman, who was Utah's Governor from 2005-2009. Herbert said Huntsman called him on Monday night to ask him to convey a friendly welcome.

Antonov said Huntsman had told him that he must visit Utah, because there is an excellent governor there.

The meeting, which is closed to the press, marks the start of the Russian ambassador's two-day visit to the state.

During the trip, Antonov is expected to meet with the representatives of Utah's business community, give a speech at the Hinckley Institute, and visit the Huntsman Cancer Institute and St. George Russian Orthodox Church.
