BEIJING (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st October, 2018) At least 17 people died and 101 others were injured after an express train derailed in Taiwan on Sunday, the local railways administration said.
The accident involving a Puyuma Express happened at 4:50 p.m. local time (8:50 GMT), the railway authority said. The cause of the trainwreck is not known.
The train carrying 366 passengers was going to the city of Taitung when it went off the tracks in the northeastern Yilan county, Chinese state television said. Five carriages overturned. An emergency response operation is underway.
