The French Foreign Ministry condemned on Saturday the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and demanded an "exhaustive investigation" into his death.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st October, 2018) The French Foreign Ministry condemned on Saturday the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and demanded an "exhaustive investigation" into his death.
"The confirmation of Jamal Khashoggi's death is the first step toward establishing the truth. Many questions remain unanswered. They require an exhaustive and diligent investigation," the ministry's statement read.
Offering condolences to Khashoggi's family, the ministry said those responsible for his death must be brought to justice.
Saudi Arabia admitted on Friday that Khashoggi died in a fight at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, after having denied any knowledge of his whereabouts for two weeks. It said 18 people had been arrested as part of the case.
