Total of 46 Patients Remain Hospitalized After Kerch Attack - Russian Health Minister

A total of 46 people, including 26 teenagers, remain hospitalized after the college attack in the Crimean city of Kerch, Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th October, 2018) A total of 46 people, including 26 teenagers, remain hospitalized after the college attack in the Crimean city of Kerch, Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said Friday.

"To date, 46 patients remain hospitalized, 26 of them are children under the age of 18," Skvortsova said in an interview with Russia's Channel One television.

The minister added that medics found bolts, shims and nails in the wounds of the victims.

"It was terrible to see these bolts, shims, crooked nails and quite large metal objects," Skvortsova said.

She noted that as a result some patients suffered from gastrointestinal phlegmons and perforation.

On October 17, 18-year-old Vladislav Roslyakov carried out a shooting and bombing attack in the Kerch polytechnic college, where he was a fourth-year student. According to the latest data, 21 people were killed, including 16 students and 5 staff members, and nearly 50 more were injured in the attack.

The attacker committed suicide, and his motives still remain unclear.
