617 RO Plants, 40 Water Schemes Functional In Tharparkar: Chief Secretary Was Informed

Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Friday was informed in a meeting that as many as 617 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants were functional in Tharparkar while work on 217 RO plants would be completed by December 15 in addition to water supply schemes.
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Oct, 2018 ) :Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah on Friday was informed in a meeting that as many as 617 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants were functional in Tharparkar while work on 217 RO plants would be completed by December 15 in addition to water supply schemes.
Secretary Irrigation Jamal Mustafa Syed also apprised the meeting that 40 water supply schemes were functional in Tharparkar.
The Chief Secretary, while presiding over a meeting regarding Thar Development Program, asked the officers to ensure examination of all the water supply schemes in consultation with the Sindh Agriculture University and relevant department of Karachi University and submit a report within 10 days.
Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah directed the Secretary Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) to expedite work of remaining water supply schemes of Thar.
The meeting also reviewed the water master plan for Thar Coal Field including Hydro geological, Water Supply and Waste Water Management Studies.
