SOCHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) The current comprehensive dialogue between Russia and China is at its best in the history of the two country's relations and can serve as a good example for the international community, Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said on Thursday delivering a speech at the annual Valdai Discussion Club forum in Sochi.

"The all-round cooperation between China and Russia sets a fine example for the international community. The past two decades have witnessed the rapid growth of the China-Russia relationship. Under the guidance of [Chinese] President Xi Jinping and [Russian] President Vladimir Putin, this relationship has delivered high quality performance in recent years and is at its best in history," Yang said.

He added that the Chinese-Russian partnership served as a bedrock of world peace and stability, with the two countries undertaking efforts to resolve such problems as the North Korean crisis, the Syrian conflict and the Iranian nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means.

"Going forward, China will continue to join hands with Russia in advancing regional economic integration and building high-standard economic and trade cooperation mechanisms and arrangements in Eurasia for sustainable economic development in the region," Yang stressed.

According to Yang, China and Russia need to make continued efforts to promote respect for cultural diversity, inclusive exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations to build a more peaceful and harmonious world.

In recent years, the level of cooperation between Russia and China has drastically increased, particularly in the spheres of defense, energy and economy. The two states maintain an active and regular political dialogue, including within the UN Security Council and other international organizations. Moscow and Beijing officially identify the current bilateral relations as an all-round, equitable and trusting partnership, and strategic cooperation.
