Minister for Housing and Works Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema Wednesday said the Nation has the right to know where the whooping foreign debt of Rs 30,000 billion was spent by the past government.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Prime Minister believes in transparency and good governance. He severely criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership for criticizing Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi's policies during his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister.

He said Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had left over Rs 100 billion in Provincial kitty at the end of his five years tenure as Punjab chief minister (2002-2007). Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had served the province in unprecedented way.

He said he did not surrender before dictator General (Retd) Pervaiz Musharraf. He was with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and remain with him come what may.

Parliamentary leader of Mutahidda Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Maulana Asad Mehmood Wednesday urged the government to announce a viable and practical economic policy.He asked the government to introduce reforms, control inflation and price hike.

Chairman Balochistan National Party's (Mengal) Sardar Akhtar Mengal said country's political history was worrisome.

He demanded across the board accountability.

The new generation should be told the true history of the country including who had dismembered this country, who looted this country.

Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Khawaja Asif said former Punjab chief minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had completed the incomplete ring road project in Lahore.

He said Bilateral bickering of PML-N and PPP had created space for General Pervez Musharraf. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government should learn from mistakes of former ruling parties.

He alleged PTI government has demanded $15 billion loan from International Monetary Fund (IMF). He also stressed for across the board accountability.

He said power contracts inked during PML-N tenure should be discussed in the Lower House, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), through Auditors or any other mean.

Lauding the suggestion of PTI government to cooperate with the government for amending the existing NAB laws, he said a House committee should be constituted to evolve consensus on amending NAB laws in consensus with opposition parties.
