Mainly dry weather forecast, rain in G-B, Baltistan

Met office has forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country, however rain-thunderstorm with gusty wind is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours, due to the westerly wave affecting upper parts of the country.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :Met office has forecast mainly dry weather in most parts of the country, however rain-thunderstorm with gusty wind is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours, due to the westerly wave affecting upper parts of the country.

The westerly wave is likely to come to an end after next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, rain-thunderstorm, with snowfall over the hills, accompanied by gusty wind was expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday night. Hailstorm was also expected at a few places during the night.

On Tuesday, weather remained dry in most parts of the country, however rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Following rainfalls were recorded in millimeter (mm) during the last 24 hours: Murree 42, Kamra 03, Balakot 43, Malamjaba 42, Pattan 35, Kalam 34, Saidu Sharif 28, Kakul 25, Dir upper 24, Dir Lower 08, Risalpur 15, Peshawar City 08, Cherat 08, Kohat 04, Parachinar 03, Chitral 03, Mirkhani 02, Drosh 01, Garidupatta 33, Muzaffarabad 28, Rawalakot 02, Astore 13, Chillas 04, and Bagrote 01.

Today's highest maximum temperatures were: Karachi 40'C, Turbat 38, Thatta 38, Benazirabad 38'C.

Tuesday's minimum temperatures were as follows Skardu 3 C, Murree 4 C, Quetta 7 C, Muzaffarabad 12 C, Islamabad 14 C, Peshawar 15 C, Lahore 17 C and Karachi 25 C.
