Following PM House, Communications Ministry cars to be auctioned

269 cars of the Communications Ministry will be auctioned.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 16th October, 2018) Following the auction of luxury vehicles of PM House, the cars of Communications Ministry will also be auctioned.

According to details, at least 269 cars of the Communications Ministry will be auctioned.

The cars will be auctioned upon the directions of Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed.

In the first stage, 76 cars will be up for auction in G-10 football ground in Islamabad. Following this, the cars will be auctioned in Karachi and Quetta.

These vehicles to be auctioned include Prado, Jeep, Toyota Corolla, Hiace, Honda Civic and Cultus.

Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed said that the promises made by Prime Minister Imran Khan are being fulfilled.

Meanwhile, at least 49 more cars from PM House will be auctioned on Oct 17. The auction of the cars will be held in the PM House parking area near Gate 7.

The cars could be inspected on Oct 15 and Oct 16 during office hours. The 49 cars include 19 bullet proof and 27 non-bullet proof cars.

According to media reports, the cars of National Assembly Secretariat will also be auctioned upon the directions of Speaker Asad Qaiser.

At least 6 used cars and one motorcycle of the National Assembly Secretariat will be auctioned on Oct 24.

At least 61 vehicles of the PM House, including six protected vehicles, were auctioned in the first round on Sep 17.

According to the terms for the auction the successful bidders had to pay 25% of the amount as earnest money and deposit rest of the amount within seven days. The successful buyers would have to get the vehicle registered in their name, while the delivery of the protected vehicles would be conditional to the No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Interior.

Prime Minister Imran Khan in his first address to the nation on August 19, had announced the austerity drive and vowed to cut down on government expenses. He initiated the campaign by announcing auction of excess luxury and other vehicles used by the PM House. The Federal cabinet later endorsed the decision of the prime minister and gave the formal go ahead.
