ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had emerged as the largest victorious political party in the by-elections as it had contested against all the opposition parties.
The PTI government did not interfere in the by-elections, which were conducted in a free, fair and peaceful manner, he said talking to a private news channel.
The minister said, "We would establish 'Naya Pakistan' at any cost." He said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) did not allow members of National Assembly (MNA) and provincial assemblies (MPA) to take part in the by-election campaign, however PML-N's election campaign was carried out by Hamza Shehbaz.
Fawad said defeat at some seats in central and south Punjab was needed to be looked at closely to ascertain its reasons.
The local leadership should take responsibility of the defeat in Jhelum, he added.
To a query, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan had adopted austerity measures to reduce expenditures and lessen burden on national kitty.
