WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th October, 2018) US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford and his British counterpart Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Sir Nicholas Carter met in Washington, DC to discuss operations against global terrorism, Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder said in a press release on Monday.
"The two leaders discussed ongoing global counterterrorism efforts and other issues of mutual interest," the release said.
The spokesman highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two countries and their continuing cooperation in the defense sector.
President Donald Trump has frequently called the United Kingdom along with France his strongest partners in the fight against terrorism and in the effort to restore peace in the middle East.
