The Italian women's volleyball team beat Japan 3-2 to reach the semi-finals of the world championships in Japan on Monday.

It was the 10th straight victory for the Azzurre, who won the match 25-20 22-25 25-21 19-25 15-13.
It was the first game in the Final Six.
"Thank you volleyball Azzurre, you are having a fantasticworld championship," said President Sergio Mattarella.
