Disabled Persons' Welfare Govt's Responsibility: Minister

Provincial Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Muhammad Ajmal Cheema Monday said that it is responsibility of the government to take steps for welfare of the blind and physically challenged persons.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Provincial Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Muhammad Ajmal Cheema Monday said that it is responsibility of the government to take steps for welfare of the blind and physically challenged persons.
He said that both Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab feel pain for these people.
"I am sure that they will never refuse any suggestion or work related to the well-being of these special people," the minister added.
He was addressing the participants in a seminar held in connection with World Blind White Cane Day.
Provincial Minister for Housing & Urban Development, DEO Special education, actress Nisho, Captain Blind cricket team and blind teachers and students from different schools of the Punjab attended the seminar.
The blind students sang songs and performed beautiful skits that mesmerized the audience.
While addressing the seminar, Provincial Minister Ajmal Cheema said: "I will personally take the message of these special people to Chief Minister Punjab." The minister said that the department would give recommendations for allocating one per cent quota for the blind, deaf and dumb and the disabled people in the project of 5 million homes, announced by the prime minister.
He said: "I will personally look into the matter of monthly stipend for these people and get it approved from Bait-ul-Maal.
The minister also distributed shields and medals among the guests and organisers of the event.
