Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces conducted on Thursday large-scale drills involving all three components of the country's nuclear triad as well as missile early-warning radars, the Defense Ministry said.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th October, 2018) Russia's Strategic Nuclear Forces conducted on Thursday large-scale drills involving all three components of the country's nuclear triad as well as missile early-warning radars, the Defense Ministry said.
"During the exercise, the command-and-control system of the Armed Forces was tested, as well as the reliability of combat training orders and signals along the entire vertical of control from Russia's National Center for Defense Management to command posts of low-tier military formations and units," the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, test launches of sea-based ballistic missiles, air-based cruise missiles and guided missiles were carried out by strategic submarines from the Barents Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk as well as by long-range bombers operating from the Engels, Ukrainka and Shaikovka airbases.
"All tasks of the exercise were accomplished. All designated targets at the Kura, Chizha, Pemboy and Terekta testing ranges were destroyed," the statement said.
