MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th October, 2018) The Kremlin has paid attention to the brawl incident involving Russian football players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamayev and believes that the law enforcement will have no difficulty in sorting out the situation, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday, stressing that it was necessary to refrain from emotions when assessing the incident.

On Monday, media reported that Mamaev and Kokorin had attacked two Russian Trade Ministry officials in a cafe in Moscow. One of the officials received head injuries. Moscow police have launched a criminal case and started investigating the incident.

"We paid attention to the issue and saw a quite unpleasant video that was published. But here we probably need to refrain from emotions, to abstract from who are football players and who are not football players. Obviously, there were many witnesses, and the video footage, so once the victim files a relevant application, it would not be difficult for the law enforcement agencies to clarify the circumstances of this case," Peskov told reporters.

Also on Monday, media reported that a driver of popular Russian tv host Olga Ushakova was beaten by a group of five men the same morning and received head injuries. Early on Tuesday, the police said they were studying information alleging that Mamaev and Kokorin could have possibly been among the attackers.

The football clubs of the two players, Krasnodar and Zenit, condemned the actions of Mamayev and Kokorin earlier in the day. Krasnodar also suspended Mamaev from training and announced its intention to terminate contract with him.
