The courtroom was fully crowded on the hearing
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 8th October, 2018) Former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and journalist Cyril Almeida appeared before the Lahore High Court (LHC) in the treason case on Monday.
A three-member LHC bench headed by Justice Mazhar Ali Naqvi held the hearing of the case.
The courtroom was fully crowded on the occasion.
Nawaz Sharif was also stuck in the court. When the lawyers tried taking selfies with the former prime minister, he said that leave the selfies and let me sit.
The PML-N supremo could not even come to the rostrum due to the rush. When the court asked where is Nawaz Sharif, he stood up from his seat and said, “I am here.”
When Nawaz came out of the court, a large number of party workers were present to see him.
The party workers got enthusiastic after seeing their leader and chanted slogans of, “Mian Sahab, we love you.”
The hearing has been adjourned till Oct 22, after the by-election.
In the previous hearing on Sep 24, the LHC had summoned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Almeida in the high treason case.
