Russia's Rostec Designs Anti-Drone Unit Able to Locate UAV Operator - Press Service

A research subsidiary of Russia's Rostec state corporation has developed a radio monitoring unit, dubbed Cheryomukha, able to detect the location of the operator of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the corporation told Sputnik on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd October, 2018) A research subsidiary of Russia's Rostec state corporation has developed a radio monitoring unit, dubbed Cheryomukha, able to detect the location of the operator of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the corporation told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"The new design by Rostec has already proven effective. It can determine the direction of the drone and its operator with an error margin of just 2 degrees," the press service said, adding that device had been developed by Rostec's Vector research institute.

The corporation added that the designers were planning to integrate Cheryomukha into a single anti-drone system.

"Modern solutions are necessary to provide safety of civil and military infrastructure. Security services and owners of infrastructure can be interested in such a complex," Rostec said.

The anti-drone complex will be developed in two variants, stationary and mobile. Modification and distribution of modules will depend on the demands of each particular commissioner and assessment of potential threats, the corporation said.
