Fujairah Chamber discusses cooperation with Luxembourg

FUJAIRAH, (Pakistan Point News - 30th Sep, 2018) Khalifa Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the board of Directors of Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with Elizabeth Cardoso Jordao, Ambassador of Luxembourg to the UAE, to discuss economic and commercial ties between Fujairah and Luxembourg and ways of expanding them.

During their meeting, which took place today at the headquarters of the chamber in the presence of Sultan Jumaie Obaid, Deputy Director-General of the Chamber, Al Kaabi reviewed the available investment opportunities in the emirate, while pointing out that the emirate occupies the second position in supplying ships and is a leading centre for oil storage and trade. The Fujairah Oil Industry Zone plays a key role in attracting companies in this sector, he added.

Al Kaabi stressed that the emirate is witnessing developments in the petrochemical, construction material and logistical services sectors, while highlighting the importance of the cooperation between the private sectors in the UAE and Luxembourg, as well as exploring available opportunities to establish economic partnerships.

Al Kaabi affirmed that the chamber aims to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises, and motivate entrepreneurship based on innovation to achieve sustainable development, while noting its willingness to help business owners from Luxembourg who desire to invest in Fujairah.

He then invited Jordao to attend the 6th Arab Conference on Investment in food Security, which will be held on 14th and 15th November 2018.

Jordao said that Luxembourg considers the UAE to be a key partner in the region and is looking forward to establishing future economic and commercial partnerships that will serve their mutual interests, while praising the chamber’s efforts to promote its members and attract foreign investments.

She added that the UAE and Luxembourg have strong bilateral ties and have signed Memorandums of Understanding and cooperation agreements in the sectors of space, financial services and non-oil goods trade.
