UK Ministers' Personal Data Exposed In Conservative Party Conference App Flaw - Reports

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th September, 2018) Personal data of several UK Conservative ministers and lawmakers, including Ex-Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond, were exposed due to a flow in the Conservative Party conference app for mobile phones, local media reported on Saturday.

According Sky news broadcaster, the exposed details, in particular, include politicians' private phone numbers that were used during the registration. The flow has allowed any person, who has downloaded the app, to type a conference attendee's email address, which is available on parliament's website and see personal profiles of politicians, the broadcaster said.

Ordinary users also could change the photos and details of cabinet members, lawmakers and other officials, who are expected to attend the Conservative Party conference 2018 slated for September 30 - October 3 in Birmingham.

The flaw has already been reportedly fixed, while the app itself was developed by Australian Crowd Comms technology company.
